1927 Apple Fritter Recipe, Old Fashioned Recipes

1927 Apple Fritter Recipe – Easy Apple Fritters from Scratch – Cook Like Mama Did – Collard Valley Cooks
This is an old fashioned Apple Fritter Recipe. It is quite simple and easy to make too. After tasting these apple fritters, I revised the recipe to include a little butter in the frying oil and some cinnamon and more sugar in the batter! These Apple Fritters are fun to make and I know you will enjoy them!

  1. We love Honey Crisp but have switched to Cosmic Crisp. This is my first time to watch you. I'm from Texas. I've been watching a lot of the videos from the Appalacian lady. I'm retired and trying to up my kitchen skills. I'll add you to my video library.

  2. I’m retired 73 year old living in Mayaguez PUERTO RICO, I like cooking from scratch and enjoy southern cuisine. Yours is one of my favorites. I was born in this island but grew up in NY. Worked with many southern folk, they introduced me to good cooking, grits, chitterlings, yams and all

  3. Have been wanting to make these and thought they were going to be SO much more complicated!
As far as flavoring, I agree with the people commenting that it was probably harder to come by certain ingredients or maybe a lot of things were just considered extravagances in that time period.
But I am no food snob, rarely do I meet a food I do not like. I mean , come on, how can you go wrong? It's fried… I could probably fry and glaze my shoe & be content eating it, LOL.
That being said, my friend and I were just laughing because we said you could pour some Fireball in the glaze and broaden your fanbase. And if you're going to go that route, you might want to look into some of the different Liqueurs… you guys think you're having fun cooking NOW🤪
You two are absolutely freaking adorable BTW. Take care💗

  4. My powdered sugar mix taste chalky I added more flour to my fritter mix because it was like pancake vrs Bisquick consistency 😊 but it all turned out so delicious thanks and God bless😃

  5. Boston here, just found you. Love it, you and hubby are sweet and charming and I am sitting here with a big smile on my face. I love fritters, they make me think of my Nonna, she would roll them in sugar with ground nuts. We always had them growing up. Love your video and have subscribed! thanks for making my day 🙂

  6. New subscriber here! Just love your recipe (Gotta watch all your videos), and gonna make these apple fritters this afternoon. Happy 2023 🥳🥳🥳 and thank you! Regards from México 🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🤗🥰

  7. wow. I'm making these tomorrow. Looked at several comments and agree with them. Well done. Oh yeah, shouldn't your skillet be centered on the burner.

  8. Hi, Just found your channel ❤️🙏🏽. I Love apple fritters ❤️❤️. But I agree- they never have enough apple in them and I’ll Love knowing that I have used my ingredients- can’t know for sure what you are getting from a grocery store.
I’m originally from Las Vegas. Now from rural Minnesota ❤️❤️.

  9. First time watching from Utah. My dad was from the South, so I grew up eating a lot of traditional southern foods. I think cinnamon would be good in them. They look delicious!
