On September, 8th, 1957, the then seven-year-old Hollywood actor Jon Provost celebrated his premiere as “Timmy Martin” in the world-famous television series “Lassie”.
In the episode “The Runaway”, Jon Provost first appeared in the role as “Timmy” on the screen and playing in over 250 episodes until 1964 with Collie bitch “Lassie” into the hearts of the people.
Also in Germany, the TV series “Lassie” (from 1958 to 1966 in the ARD (First German television broadcast) and from the end of 1967 to the begin of the 70`s on the ZDF (Second German Television Broadcast) was one of the most successful television series in my country. Even today the sight of a Collie always reminds of the famous dog woman “Lassie”.
September, 8th, is always “Timmy Day” for me. And today, September, 8th, 2017, it is a very special “Timmy Day”, because Hollywood actor Jon Provost is celebrating his 60th anniversary as “Timmy Martin” today.
Because of the “60th anniversary of Jon Provost as “Timmy Martin” in the TV-series “Lassie”, I made a small movie. I hope you enjoy it.
