I’ve omitted the taco seasoning. It’s not necessary.

– 1 jar of chili sauce (12 ounces)
– 1 jar of medium salsa (or homemade if you prefer)

– 1 green pepper chopped
– 1 Tbl mince garlic
– 3 Tbl chili powder
– 1 Tbl Cumin
– 1 Tbl black pepper
– 1 Tbl salt (or to taste)
– 1/2 Tbl tabasco (or to taste)

Saute onion and green pepper, add to crock pot.

Add all of the remaining ingredients to the crock pot. Cook for 2 hours or longer (longer is better).

  1. I’m not much for using a lot of processed foods in a chili, I think of chili as a comfort food that should be homemade 🙂 but to each his own haha I’m sure it tasted great

  2. I made this chili for a competition in Texas. There was over 50 chili’s entered and I took 2nd place with this recipe. I’m going to enter again with this same recipe and see how it goes. Hopefully I can take first this time.
