After a long time sun raised, saying goodbye to the continuous rainy sky. But the fog was so thick in the early morning time, it fully covered the surrounding. Couldn’t see anything. It means in the daytime very hot sun. This is a good climate for those who cultivate rice.
In the morning my father went to the land saying that he wanted to eat String hoppers for breakfast. I wake up a little late in the morning, so I ordered string hoppers from my aunt who is living opposite our house. I visited our crop side.
I noted the raw chili beds in the crop are now barren. It is time to plant another crop. The moringa trees that Dad used to plant were full of drumsticks. Because the wind is a little harsh, all the drumsticks vibrate like the ripples of a Vesak Lantern.
Needless to say, Drumstick is a very nutritious food. The Bark of the Tree is used to control the poison. Used as medicine to put bandages. Also, it is used as an ingredient to make traditional sri lankan spicy soup. The leaves are used to make mulch and fry. The dried leaves are crushed and used as a natural leaf pigment in food. Can make sambols with drumsticks spirals. Can prepare a Drumstick dish adding coconut milk. Moringa tree is a very much useful tree. That is correct to say from the moringa tree we used to eat everything. It is also one of the high nutrient foods in the world.
I plucked drumsticks, moringa leaves, and moringa bark to make traditional sri lankan spicy soup for Dinner. On my way back I gave some drumsticks to Sister, then I brought some String hoppers and with my beloved pet Sakki I came home very quickly.
I put and kept Drumsticks pinches into a bowl. The Drumstick milk broth was made by letting it dry in the air.
First, have to clean and cut the Drumsticks into pieces and have to add Chille and spices. After that add second coconut milk and have to boil it. Once Drumsticks are well cooked add tick coconut milk. Then cook it for a while, now Drumstick curry is ready.
Before I go to Corp I prepared Thalapth Fish fry (Spanish Mackerel), Mum prepared her famous delicious Coconut Sambol.
My Dad enjoyed breakfast with String Hoppers, Thalapath Fry, Coconut Sambol, and Drumstick Curry. I think Dad enjoyed the food combination must be he felt he can eat more. After two to three days, the moringa leaves fall off. Since it was well dried, I put it in a mortar and pestle to make some moringa Powder. Mix butter, Sugar, Vanilla, Eggs, Corn Flour, and Wheat Flour and keep biscuit dough aside. Prepared the cake filling adding Dry Desiccated Coconut, Wheat Flour,moringa Powder, Semolina, Egg and dry fruit pieces, plumps, and fresh milk. Arranged small baking trays with oil papers. Put the biscuit mixture first on the small cake trays and press it with fingers in the middle then add the cake fillings into it. Then decorate it with Armond, Cashew, Cherry and kept it inside the oven to bake.
I went to the kitchen to check what to cook for lunch, then I noted Dad has purchased Cuttlefish from the market. Also a small Pineapple. To reduce the heat of the food have to do magic with moringa leaves.
Once, Ginger, Garlic, shallots turned to gold add tomato, chilies, roasted curry powder, turmeric powder, pepper powder, salt, and temper it then add coconut milk. Then add boiled cuttlefish, egg, and green chilies and keep the pan closed, and cook it in the medium fire for five minutes.then add pineapple pieces and moringa leaves and stir it well. This dish will give a temptation to eat.
Today was a sunny day after a long time so arranged an outdoor table for a difference because of the nice breeze outside. My younger brother prepared Chillie paste and curd salad. My Dad and Mum with my Younger brother, and I enjoyed the meals.Four of us ate until our tummy was full. After having heavy lunch we had Biscuit Coconut Cake which is made out of moringa powder. More than us dessert was enjoyed by our beloved doggy Sakki.
