First of all why fold the cheese. Lay it flat. Makes it too bulky obviously. Miss Gina I think there was too much filling which didn't allow enough rolling space. Just my opinion.
Similar recipe but easier: Tex Mex Wontons. Browned ground beef, refried beans , cheese and some spices. Seal up in littler wonton wrappers and fry like Gina did. Haven't heard of hamburger egg rolls before but I will be making this for the family
Suggestion: Instead of throwing the egg roll away put a wrap to the side and patch up the hole. That’s what I did when a couple of mine busted.
You could have used the ingredients in a new wrapper or just added another wrapper. I hope you didn't waste that food.

You need to use wooden spoons w Teflon and such surfaces. Regular spoon scratches it and releases harmful chemicals.
