  1. well, now you need to try the gourmet MRE's. They are expensive, but, if you can get them… the french RCIR – Ration de Combat Individuelle Rechauffable.

we are talking menues like, Pate du foir, Sauté of rabbit, Whitefish, rice and vegetables. They have lamb, duck, Parisian chicken.

    the contents are just insane.

    Japanese MRE's are great too.

  2. I was in the military in the old days and we had sea rations, sometimes cold canned food that is open can and either. And then we used to get four cigarettes in each pack so three meals a day you could have 12 cigarettes and military 🪖 furnished. Some of the food in there was not the best.

  3. I had a pack of peanut M&Ms in one of my MREs during the Crucible and, no joke, nothing will ever taste as good as those did. lol
Chicken pesto pasta for the win.

  4. I wouldn't throw them out however they are a bit high in sodium. But you are right the over all experience is positive for the moral of a person who is relying on a meal. We went through hurricane Katrina and Rita. We stood on line at churches for MRE meals and water. The stores were bare. Having them was a blessing for sure.❤️

  5. if you have any left, check the dates on them, they basically never expire so you can get some pretty old ones that are incredible still. had a few in the Marines. lol

  6. Mountain house actually has a contract with the government to supply the entree for the cold weather rations, basically the difference is the meals are freeze dried you get a little more calorie count and it's lighter weight with alot less water weight. Look up steve1989 on YT he has done quite a few cold weather ration reviews, it's interesting to see the difference. Plus he does a ton of foreign rations which is really cool to see what other soldiers eat on the other side of the world. Keep up the good work bud!
