The guy who started this one also tried to start one in ARkansas. They got it started but ran out of funding. It’s for sale if anyone wants to buy it. Went there a year or so ago and it’s just been abandoned.

A great historical fiction to read about this kind of thing is Pillars of the Earth. The story revolves around building a church in a similar time period in Europe. I had a professor who said it was the most accurate historical fiction he’d ever read and this dude seemed to know everything about Medieval history. It was a really good story.
My wife and I visited this site (Guedelon) for a day on our honeymoon. It was pretty damn cool, I’ve gotta say.
