I think it’s overwhelmingly meh. Just a dude yelling with a drum. Maybe with the full ensemble and some more voices involved it could be cool. But like this I don’t personally get the hype people seem to have in the comments.
I’ve seen something like this live at a College’s event. They were dressed in full native attire singing songs. Of course they didn’t have any normal English lyrics added in, but this was very good.
As a Native Taino, I love seeing Native American culture shared with the world. So much of our story has been drowned out by what happened in the past. We have so much knowledge, ideas, and magic to share with the world when they are ready.
Music is one of the few bridges that link humanity together, albeit a bridge that gets narrower & narrower with every passing day. It saddens me when ignorance clouds the judgement of someone who is able to comprehend the scope of the power it holds on the human soul, and chooses to deny themselves the satisfaction anyway, often for the pettiest reasons.
All my life I was raised in a family that believed we were Cherokee. No ID, my family said that our ancestors were too proud to get them. Aunt gets a 23 and Me done a couple years ago, and finds out we have no native blood. My grandma lived and died on that. Had a bunch of native lifestyle things from kitchenware to clothes to swag hanging on the wall. What the fuck?
This is a true American.
Peace be with you.
Thank you, I enjoyed your song very much
From your native brother, YOU’RE AWESOME DUDE!!!! #nativepride

Very cool! Is there a foot drum, or another drummer off screen?

Winnipeg?
For anyone who’s into this style of music, I suggest checking out Northern Cree. They’re a group based out of Canada.
The video you make when your 23 and me comes back and your 2% Native American.
Fuck I loved this so much. Definitely one of my new favourite songs.
Not sure if the chills are from the cold outside or this song haha
Gets good at 3:11.
