Did this just smash the current record? I thought it was ~270 mph at least for street-legal cars.
There’s a moment where it goes from ahh that doesn’t look too fast to holy shit I’m gonna die. And it keeps going faster
I would love to ride shotgun. I say shotgun because I know I’m not skilled enough to drive a super car.
I wonder why he eases into it until over 100 mph – if it’s tire preservation or if he’s taking care of the engine or gearbox
What blows my mind is how hard it keeps pulling even after 250 miles an hour. They could up the gearing in this thing and likely hit another 15-20 mph.
At 180 mph it was like hitting NOS in Need for Speed
It’s amazing when he lets off the throttle how slow it looks like he is going, but he’s still going over 100 mph.
Seems like it had plenty more left in the tank as well. What’s scariest is how everything is warped at that speed, like the poles on the median strip looked as if they were bent over completely from 250+mph
When it hits 300km/h it kicks in to another level, craaaaazy at that speed! What is that, turbo, compressor?
Is that Interstate 80 between Reno and Salt Lake City somewhere? Where’s the westbound lanes?
What’s amazing about this road is to me, it’s clear it can handle a 500-600 mph attempt with no problem… maybe even Mach 1 with some sort of computer stability/steering augmentation. I’d like to see that done one day.

At 100mph it’s like he’s looking for parking.

He wasn’t even in boost until 180mph. That car can maintain 0.4g from 180 to 220mph… what the fuck

And while they where there they took the opportunity to beat their own 1month old 36.44sec 0-400-0 record an took it down to 33.87sec (the Bugatti Chirion did 42sec!)

I usually shift into fifth at 225 but 219 is fine too, I guess.

Most fascinating thing for me was when in the second run there was a gear change at 366km/h. A gear change! At 366km/h!

This is how i feel when I’m driving to Vegas.
This is a really cool video, the sense of speed is real. You can clearly see your normal highway speeds, then it just gets more and more insane. Really puts 280mph in perspective.

When I heard him shift at 220 I knew.
I was amazed when he hit ~180mph and shift up!
That gave me a lot of anxiety
And to think the Regera is theoretically faster.
I have a fast motorcycle, I once pulled it to 280 km/h or 173 mp/h and I felt like any microsecond could be my last. The sensation of speed and potential danger was overwhelming. Seeing this car casually cruising at that kind of speed is mindblowing.
I remember as a boy being dumbstruck reading the F40 could do 201mph, *that* was mind boggling.
Now we’re changing gear at, what, 220 mph ?
