Yeah if you dont know what you are doing and eat any random mushroom you cant know if you will be fine, trip balls, die, trip balls then die, or it just tastes horrible.
Galerina marginata (autumn skullcap mushrooms) are super dangerous because they grow in the same places as psilocybe cubensis mushrooms and look nearly identical. You really have to look at the spore print and check the bruising because that's the only sure way to identify between the two.
On our farm there were these puff mushrooms that looked like white bird eggs sticking out the grass I tried to crush it but all you'll get is a fowl rotten fish smell on your hands, but it turns greyish brown when these puff mushrooms will explodes spewing smoke like spores to spread.😅
To all the "Naw, go for it" people. You do know that the only treatment for some of these poisonings are a full liver transplant, right? You got liver-transplant money?
just do not pick and eat mushrooms. It's 2023, you're a bank teller in a suburb, drive to Costco and buy safe mushrooms like someone who is sane. No video or blog or reference chart is going to make you a mycologist.
Australia: hold on, I want the crazy animals! Africa: hold your horses! I'm the cradle of life, I get some too! North America: RATTLESNAKES BEARS AND FUNGUS!
Yes, be very careful foraging mushrooms yourself. My great aunt successfully harvested mushrooms for over 50 years, but one mistake one time and her son found her dead in her kitchen.
A very dangerous one is the witches stump because its unpredictable When thoroughly cooked its safe to eat But if you consumed alcohol before its fully digested it will kill you This was especially dangerous because beer was safer to drink than water back then
I've used one of these to cook… I poisoned someone by accident, I wasn't well off financially so I scavenged for edible shrooms and such and got fooled by death caps…my friend ate before me and I did some stuff because I was called before I could eat, he had symptoms very early on and told me, so I dropped everything and realized I picked death caps… Not fun.

I have about 10 death caps in my front yard right now
"welcome to fact or cap"
Also, most of these have no antidote / cure – they give you supportive care and hope your liver doesn’t fail.
They all look so yummy though lol. But by all means, I have no intention of eating them or any mushrooms outside a grocery store

And this, folks, is why you do not go picking when the internet tells you to.
I'm curious on how a mushroom gives you hypothermia.
Thought to be? YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW!?
And this shit is why I won't eat mushrooms.
